Fell in love with your solution?

We all have the Innovator’s Bias, our natural predisposition towards our own idea.

Most entrepreneurs focus 80% of effort on the solutions while it should be on THE PROBLEM that’s WORTH SOLVING!

Here are the hard facts not to discourage you, but to remind ourselves to learn the lessons from our predecessors.

It’s exactly these numbers that fuel our purpose and passion, to help more entrepreneurs to be on the other side.

  • Number of new businesses who failed at the end of 1st year (US) 20% 20%
  • Number of new businesses who failed at the end of 2nd year (US) 30% 30%
  • Number of new businesses who failed at the end of 5th year (US) 50% 50%
  • Number of new businesses who failed at the end of 5th year (US) 50% 50%
  • Number of new businesses who failed at the end of 10th year (US) 70% 70%
  • Number of startups who failed 90% 90%
  • Number of startups backed by venture capitals who failed 75% 75%

I first met Vern through LinkedIn whilst doing my customer discovery interviews. After a few sessions with Vern, I was a lot more comfortable with the process of interviewing and the sort of information or questions I’d need to ask. It was great to have someone to talk to when the business wasn’t going too well, or when I felt like I wanted to stop it and move onto another project.

Vern is a great person to talk to and a very capable startup coach.

I recommend her if you’re new and looking to do things the right and easy way.

Business Model Design

30-DAY BUSINESS MODEL DESIGN (BMD) WORKSHOP

A skill-based learning activity that any entrepreneur, founding or corporate teams would benefit from getting the clarity required at the starting point of a successful startup journey.

What You’ll Learn

30-Day BMD teaches you how to

  • Deconstruct your initial vision (or Plan A) into one or more possible business models.
  • Prioritize the riskiest assumptions to tackle first.
  • Avoid the most common pitfalls that trip early stage products.
  • Stress test your business model(s) for desirability i.e. market demand.
  • Test whether your business model represents a big-enough problem worth solving.
  • Formulate a battle-tested validation strategy for systematically launching your product.
  • Communicate your idea clearly and concisely to others (co-founders, advisors, investors) so they buy in.

Who’s it for?

  • Aspiring entrepreneurs
  • Innovators and intrapreneurs
  • Product managers
  • Makers and visionaries

WEEK 1: CONTINUOUS INNOVATION FRAMEWORK

What separates successful entrepreneurs isn’t differing skillsets, but differing mindsets. In this workshop, you’ll learn the key mindsets and strategies for building the next generation of products that matter.

WEEK 2: STRESS TEST YOUR IDEA FOR DESIRABILTIY

As entrepreneurs, we are charged with building better products, but what does better even mean? This is the million (or billion) dollar question that we’ll cover in this workshop.

WEEK 3: STRESS TEST YOUR IDEA FOR VIABILITY

Too many entrepreneurs rush outside the building with a product only to find out months later that they are chasing too small an idea. In this workshop you’ll learn how to test whether your idea is worth pursing in 5 minutes versus 5 months.

WEEK 4: STRESS TEST YOUR IDEA FOR FEASIBILITY

In this workshop, you’ll learn how to formulate a stage-based product launch and validation strategy using battle-tested recipes.

PRIVATE COACHING SESSION: BUSINESS MODEL DIAGNOSTIC

At the end of the program, you’ll get live feedback from a LEANSTACK certified coach on your business model, validation strategy, and immediate next steps for moving your idea forward.

Your Pivot

An aspiring entrepreneur once asked: "How did you come out with the name Your Pivot?" While this was the first time someone asked since the official launch on 16 June 2021, it will be a very common question in the world of startup!  Founder Institute explained it best...

If you’ve a few ideas and unsure which one to pursue, this conversation will help you obtain the clarity you need.
